The Vineyard
Webster Ranch is located in the mountains of the westside of Paso Robles in one of the highest-elevation vineyards in SLO county. Limestone soils and a steady afternoon ocean breeze make this an ideal spot for Pinot Noir.

2011 Vintage
This vintage had a warm start in the early spring, but was unusually cool during the summer, resulting in healthy vines that thrived deep into the short days of autumn. This pattern is ideal for development of fruit intensity and complexity.

Winemaking
Crafted in the traditional Burgundian style, we hand-punched the fruit in open bins until 10 Brix, then pressed and barrel-fermented until dry in French oak, including several new D’Aquitaine barrels which impart a subtle, integrated avor to the wine. After completion of malolactic fermentation, it was aged in neutral barrels in a temperature and humidity-controlled cellar for bouquet and structure development, then stored in stainless
steel until bottling..

Tasting Notes
Complex and intense, the varietal aromas has ripe cherry and strawberry, along with spicy notes of leather, cayenne pepper and caraway seed. Full-bodied with berry and dark-chocolate avors, the structured tannins balance nicely with the ample acidity, finishing long and satiny-smooth. Pairs well with textured fish such as grilled ahi, saucy pork and veal entrees, or a rich, custard-based dessert. Enjoyable now, will improve until 2016
and should age gracefully until 2020.
